Breaking News: Bernie Sanders Supporters Fear Not! There is a Lifeboat For You…It’s Called The Libertarian Party!

First off I am sorry.  I am sorry that your guy, Bernie Sanders, has been beaten for the Democratic nomination by one of the most corrupt and vile politicians of the 21st Century.  He put up a good fight and you should be proud of everything he and you accomplished.

But don’t let your troubled heart worry you. There is somewhere you can go for guidance and self assurance, and that is the Libertarian Party.

While there are things that drew you to Bernie Sanders, like free-college, just understand you might not agree with us Libertarians 100% of the time. However, you will be surprised to learn that we have more in common with you than you might think! Let me demonstrate:

You see there is a lot that we agree on! Yes you might understand our economic policies (but we really don’t understand your thinking on that either), but that is easy to see past because look what happens if you don’t support Gary Johnson and the Libertarians….you get Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton!

I know, I just threw up in my mouth a little as well!

The Libertarian Party stands on principle and shy’s away from cronyism at all levels.  We believe in freedom of the individual and a society that is built upon the concept of non-aggression. Take a look at our platform:

As Libertarians, we seek a world of liberty; a world in which all individuals are sovereign over their own lives and no one is forced to sacrifice his or her values for the benefit of others.

We believe that respect for individual rights is the essential precondition for a free and prosperous world, that force and fraud must be banished from human relationships, and that only through freedom can peace and prosperity be realized.

Consequently, we defend each person’s right to engage in any activity that is peaceful and honest, and welcome the diversity that freedom brings. The world we seek to build is one where individuals are free to follow their own dreams in their own ways, without interference from government or any authoritarian power.

In the following pages we have set forth our basic principles and enumerated various policy stands derived from those principles.

These specific policies are not our goal, however. Our goal is nothing more nor less than a world set free in our lifetime, and it is to this end that we take these stands.

The millennial generation has the ability to change this country. We have the ability to say that the two party system is no longer a norm in the United States, and independent thinkers can reign free and hold power in America.  As for the issues we agree more often than not, so why not take the plunge and join the third party movement and be the difference this election?

We welcome you and your followers to see the light of Liberty and promote real leadership in this country. Don’t buy into the bigotry and corruption of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Join the fight!

  1. There are things to like, and things to not like. I do agree on the issues highlighted in this article, but Johnson also does not support increasing gun control measures, wants to abolish the IRS in favor of “fair tax” legislation that there’s no likelihood of passing, wants to privatize Social Security, opposes the ACA and wants it repealed, thinks states should individually regulate all access to abortion and that Roe v Wade was decided wrongly, and he wants public education to be a voucher system. In principle, I don’t really accept the half-right/half-left Libertarian philosophy, just the socially liberal part.

To me, Johnson’s a glass half-full. For now, I’ll take a full glass of Bernie instead. Still haven’t decided if HRC is acceptable, but Trump, the orange man-baby, racist, bully isn’t under any circumstances.

I do think America would be a better place with at least two more viable alternative parties, and I have voted for local Libertarian, Green and independent candidates.

    1. Mikey, One needs to look no further than to Hillary’s record on the military and understand that a Clinton presidency will continue to send our sons and daughters off to die for oil and other non-vital interests.

No Johnson isn’t perfect by any means, but I think as a compromise he is much more palatable than either Trump or Clinton.

      1. I fully expect HRC to continue to be a hawk. However, our forces are all-volunteer now. If you are smart enough to recognize when a military action is a corporate-backed or other type of misadventure, no one can compel you to join in.
