Donald Trump is a Racist and Republicans Need to Say It Out Loud

{The belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races. Prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one’s own race is superior.} That is the Google definition of racism.

So why start this story with that definition? Because it gives context to what comes next.

Donald J. Trump is a racist. Plain and simple, the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party is a racist and Republicans in this country need to start saying it or see the destruction of their party.

Over the past few days we have seen the bigoted rantings of a man who thinks he should be the President of the United States, and one that wants to lead the party of Lincoln. Beyond the months other racist comments by Trump, there is a bigger backlash this time around, especially from major Republican leaders.

Despite the efforts of his campaign and some supporters there is no way around the fact that he spews racism from his tiny mouth. Read the definition at the top of the page and watch this series of videos and tell me that it doesn’t match that definition:

Now think about this.  You have one of the most polarizing figures in modern American history and he doesn’t even know that he is racist.  There is no covering up the fact that he thinks he is superior to anyone that might challenge him, or his wealth, and will use the fact that they have a different skin color in order to make that point.

When you keep singling out groups of people and then send your surrogates out their to attack that is the character of people who ran the Ku Klux Klan and other hate groups. Targeting people because of their skin color, their heritage, and their religion is what the KKK does everyday. Saying you disavow groups like the KKK doesn’t protect you.  They are endorsing your candidacy and then you hit the campaign trail and spew hate from the podium.

The Republican Party and its leadership needs to run far away from this man and protect any hope they have left in saving their party from ruin.  Even though I left them and became a Libertarian I have a lot of good friends still in that party and I don’t want to see them taken down this path.
