My name is Robert J. Bentley and I am a Libertarian!
I say this with pride and honor in a time that is being challenged by tyranny and government control.
I started this website over a year ago at the hight of the 2016 Presidential election. Being a longtime Republican that felt lost in a party that was overtaken by big government conservatives I found a new home in the Libertarian Party. I became a dues paying, card carrying, member of a political party that has not had success in elections. I was laughed at by my Republican friends that viewed me as somebody who could hold public office as a member of the GOP. Instead I abandoned any solid hope of being an office holder for something higher, principle!
I have always been a Libertarian minded person. I beleive in less government in both my personal and economic life. This has been the hallmark of my thinking ever since I became involved in politics.
I took this to the next level and have now engaged myself into making the Libertarian Party one that can compete on a high level. I volunteer my time to both the Colorado Libertarian Party as well as the national Libertarian Party. It is now my mission in life to spread the platform and the principles of the party to as many people that I can. I use The Libertarian Vindicator as an avenue to achieve that goal.
I want to live in a world that is full of Liberty. I want people to be free and live their lives according to their own set of beliefs. Government should not get in the way of people and their ambitions in life.
The beginning of the Libertarian platform says everything that needs to be said on politics. It is something that we can all adapt and proclaim loudly for anyone to hear:
- I seek to substantially reduce the size and intrusiveness of government and cut and eliminate taxes at every opportunity.
- I believe that peaceful, honest people should be able to offer their goods and services to willing consumers without inappropriate interference from government.
- I believe that peaceful, honest people should decide for themselves how to live their lives, without fear of criminal or civil penalties.
- I believe that government’s only responsibility, if any, should be protecting people from force and fraud.
It is tough sometimes in the Liberty movement. There are people that question the motives of people tyring to push forward free thoughts and opinions. But rest assured. Myself and the writers here at The Libertarian Vindicator are passionate individuals that believe the bullet points above. We will not rest and will spread the message of Libertarianism as much as we can!
#LiveFree #Libertarian
I agree with all of this. Who has the authority to tell another person how he or she should be able to live their lives?
