Motion To Suspend Arvin Vohra Has Chance To Pass
A Facebook note shared by Libertarian Party National Committee Secretary candidate Caryn Ann Harlos stated that she will be making a motion to suspend and one to remove Arvin Vohra as Vice Chairman of the LNC. The motion to suspend is currently cosponsored by 7 other members of the committee, while the resignation motion is sponsored by one.
“RESOLVED, that the Libertarian National Committee suspends Arvin Vohra from his position of Vice-Chair for sustained and repeated unacceptable conduct that brings the principles of the Libertarian Party into disrepute, including making and defending a statement advocating lethal violence against state employees who are not directly threatening imminent physical harm. Such action is in violation of our membership pledge,” states the suspension motion with the motion calling for Vohra’s resignation cites his “repeated unacceptable conduct that brings the principles of the Libertarian Party into disrepute,” as the basis.
Committee member votes are due via email by April 12.
This would be second attempt at suspending Vohra and the motion could fail again if more committee members do not support it. A 2/3s majority is required in order for a removal or suspension of an LNC member.
