According to the New York Times, Sean Spicer, Press Secretary for Donald Trump, resigned this morning due to the appointment of Anthony Scarmucci as Communications director.
“Mr. Spicer told Mr. Trump that he believed the appointment was a major mistake, according to person with direct knowledge of the exchange,” states the New York Times.
Spicer’s resignation had been rumored as of late as the Press Secretary was “repeatedly undermined in his role as the White House’s public-facing spokesman by the President’s own public statements and tweets,” according to CNN.
