Donald Trump Is The Result of Voting for the Lesser of Two Evils for Years

It has been over two years since Donald Trump was sworn in as the President of the United States. America is ever more divided then it has in its history and many people have wondered how we got here in the first place.

President Trump is the most dynamic President this country has ever seen. He isn’t afraid to speak his mind on camera, or on Twitter. He goes against every norm that has been established by past Presidents and has drummed up the anger of many Americans. He is unconventional and has sparked debates about his state of mind and ability to serve the office of President properly.

So, how did we get here in the first place? The easiest answer is that the American people voted for him, but that argument is thrown out quick when you look at the popular vote from the 2016 election. The harder answer for people to stomach is that for generations voters in this country have voted for the lesser of two evils more times than none. They have been boxed into a hard corner by the ignorant preaching of many Americans that say you have to vote for either the Republican candidate or the Democratic candidate.

Ever since the election of Abraham Lincoln in 1860 this country has had either a Republican or Democratic President. Generations of people have not experienced anything other than the two major parties. The psyche of the American voter has been tainted by the media and powerful elite. The ordinary American voter doesn’t even realize that they have choices beyond the two major parties on the ballot. They walk into a voting booth and look for the R or D next to people’s names and cast their votes blindly.

The lesser of two evils debacle is becoming more and more of a governmental norm in the United States and that is what leads to people like Donald Trump becoming President of the United States. This doesn’t give credence to any argument that Hillary Clinton would have been a better choice, because my argument would still be the same.

We are at a pivotal moment in American political history. If we continue down this road then we will be left with the garbage candidates that are put up every 4 years by the two major parties. The American voter needs to open their eyes and see past the smoke screen that is put up on their television screens every night. There are other choices and those parties/candidates will only get the time of day when the American people do their research. Evil doesn’t have to be an option anymore.
